BATH BOMBS
3D PACKAGING
Product: Bath Bombs
Tools: Adobe Dimensions, Fantastic Folds and Photoshop.
Goal: The goal of this project was to conceptualize, design and execute a 3D packaging prototype using adobe fantastic folds and Adobe Dimensions. For this project, I aimed to create a photorealistic poster showcasing bath bombs.
1. Mood board and Colour Palette
One of the key components of product design is choosing the right color palette. In the case of bath bombs, I create a color palette that evokes relaxation and calmness by using soft, muted hues of pink, lavender, and teal.
With this colour palette my objective was not only reflect the brand identity but also appeal to the target audience.
2. Packaging design using fantastic folds
I created a 3D package using Adobe Fantastic Folds and then added a pattern to make it look more realistic.
My goal was not only to create a visually appealing packaging but also one that would engage the consumer. In order to achieve this, I carefully selected a pattern that would complement the design and engage the target audience.
3. Adding 3D elements with Adobe Dimensions
I made the bath bombs using simple round elements from Adobe Dimensions and then added texture by incorporating UV texture maps.
I selected the textures and patterns that would complement the design and enhance the tactile experience of the product.
My goal was that, by incorporating elements such as a textured surface, the consumer would feel more drawn to it.
4. Poster
For the final poster I used a royalty background and incorporated all the elements with Photoshop.
Overall, my approach to this packaging design involved not only creating an aesthetically pleasing packaging, but one that also engages the consumer.
Final Thoughts:
One of the challenges in this project was selecting a color palette and design for the bath bomb packaging that would create the desired mood and resonate with the target audience.
Overall, this project allowed me to grow as a designer and gain insights into the complexities of product design and visual communication.
